I have a 2 hour lunch break today. It's relaxing, but if there's no rain
today it'd be a perfect day to go outside window shopping.

As I was finishing up my typing of lesson record on the computer, I heard
this music "Flying to the Moon" in the background. The first time I heard
this song is from Gainax's animation "Evangelion". I thought it was a better
song than the opening theme song, but until I heard one day my social studies
teacher was playing it with his piano in the classroom, I didn't know that
it's actually an old English song from the mid 70s.

I thought it was an innovative idea to blend an old song with an anime of
future fictional plot. Evangelion is too dark a story for me, but I thought a
slight sense of hope was hidding in the ending song. Maybe someday we will
find a better place to live, even though it is just a fantasy...

I was also reflecting back to my high school teacher when I heard the song.
He is a more skillful pianoist than a teacher. I was told that I will be
able to improve my English through social studies but all he did in class
was showing us a bunch of videos, asking us to read lots of loosenly stapled
classical magazines, and playing us a song in the end of class. I didn't
write a single word in English in his class, not to mention the tests were
all done on bubble sheets (multiple choice all the way...)

I guess to be fair, I would just say I learned how important art is in our lives.
That is also one aspect of social studies I suppose......and I really
enjoyed the old movies and songs he showed us. He should be teaching
art classes. Like movie critics or chior classes...
